As a delegate, chair, and organizer, Samarendu has witnessed firsthand how MUN conferences inspire young people to think critically about global issues, develop their public speaking abilities, and build lasting connections across cultures and backgrounds.

The vision for LIDMUN emerged from a simple observation: while many MUN conferences exist, few truly prioritize the holistic development of delegates while maintaining the highest standards of diplomatic simulation. Samarendu founded Leaders In Diplomacy Model United Nations to bridge this gap.

LIDMUN was created with three core principles in mind:
